The Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 ("EISA") was signed into law
December 19, 2007. The effective
date is fast approaching. It is
December 19, 2010.
The law sets revised, higher full load efficiency levels for certain general
purpose electric motors manufactured after this date. Details are provided in the Baldor
document you can review here:
The Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007
Congress is also working on a "rebate" program to encourage manufacturing
companies to replace existing, less efficient motors with the new "EISA"
standard motors. Check our website
often for future updates on this rebate program.
